      Ambassador Davidonis presented credentials to the Crown Prince of Bahrain

      On 10 January, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania Ramūnas Davidonis presented credentials to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, on behalf of the King of Bahrain, His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Ceremony was held at the Al Sakhir Palace.

      Ambassador Davidonis welcomed the strengthening bilateral and international relations between Lithuania and Bahrain, growing cooperation in the fields of security and economy. The Ambassador also celebrated Bahrain's outstanding efforts to ensure the country's coexistence of different nationalities and religions.

      During his visit to Bahrain, Ambassador Davidonis also met with Ahmed Ebrahim Al Qarainees, Head of the European Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain and representatives of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce. During the meetings, the strengthening of the bilateral relations between Lithuania and Bahrain, especially in trade and investment, was discussed.

      Ambassador Davidonis is the second Lithuanian Ambassador accredited to Bahrain. On 15 September 1991, Bahrain recognised the re-established independent state of Lithuania, and on 3 July 1995, bilateral diplomatic relations were established.
