INVITATION TO AN EXHIBITION
The Embassy kindly invites to the opening of the exhibition “The Cairo of Zofia Romer. Cairo and Cairenes of 1943-1947 in paintings and graphics” that will take place on 29th of October at 7 pm at Bayt Al-Sinnari. Zofia Romer (1885 – 1972), a talented Polish-Lithuanian painter, lived and worked in Cairo between 1943 and 1947 where she found herself as a result of her displacement from her home during the World War II. Her paintings from Cairo are realistic and colorful, but they feature that always attracts one is the eyes which are most often sad, looking with distrust at the spectator or into the distance or cast down. The exhibition will be running until November 14th.
