LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTS LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO THE DEPUTY EMIR OT THE STATE OF QATAR
On April 30, 2012 Ambassador of Lithuanian Dainius Junevičius presented Letters of Credence to His Highness the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, accrediting him as a non-resident Ambassador to the State of Qatar. After the ceremony Ambassador of Lithuania, HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent of the State of Qatar and Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs Khaled bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah discussed outcomes of the visit of the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė to the State of Qatar that took place on 29th April, 2012. The visit was seen as very positive by all sides. HH Heir Apparent underlined that HH Emir already instructed Qatari experts to start organizing visit to Lithuania for negotiating further agreements of cooperation. In addition to the cooperation in the field of energy recourses, a fruitful cooperation in the field of knowledge economy, high technology, renewable energy and other fields is expected. Ambassador D. Junevičius is residing in Cairo. He is the first Lithuania's diplomatic representative accredited to the State of Qatar.Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and the State of Qatar were established on November 25, 1992.
