Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania visited Egypt

H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, has visited Cairo on October 11th-12th, 2023.
The purpose of the visit - to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between Lithuania and Egypt.
During the two days, the minister met with H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Sameh Shoukri, H.E. Secretary General of Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and H.E. Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt, Dr. Amr Talaat.
During the meetings:
- The need to stop the ongoing war as soon as possible was emphasized in order to avoid the expansion of the conflict in the region.
- The consequences of the war caused by Russia for the region and world security reviewed.
- The prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of high technology and communications, transport, energy, digitization, and green technologies were discussed.
- The discussion of opportunities to expand cooperation between universities was held.
- The views on cooperation in multilateral formats have been exchanged.
