Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania holds talks in Egypt on transport links and cooperation
Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis visited Egypt on 22nd – 24th April, 2024, where he met with Egypt's Minister of Transport Kamel Al Wazir, Minister of Communications and Information Technology dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy Hashem and other senior officials.
The opportunities to develop transport links and increase cargo flows, as well as possibilities to initiate the signing process of the Air Service Agreement, which would pave the way for regular direct flights between Lithuania and Egypt were discussed during the meetings.
The Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications also visited Egypt’s largest seaport – the Port of Alexandria. Minister Skuodis presented the opportunities to strengthen cooperation with the Port of Klaipėda and the investments in its development. Also, he invited the Alexandria Port’s authorities to visit Klaipėda.
