The Embassy of Lithuania in Cairo lights up in orange for sixteen days
Today, November 25, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Arab Republic of Egypt will be lit up in orange for the second year in a row. In 2019, for the first time Lithuanian diplomats in Cairo have joined the international campaign "Orange the World". The campaign usually lasts until December 10th – International Human Rights Day. For sixteen days, the orange reflection on the river Nile coming from the Embassy’s office will be calling to end violence against women and girls by promising to never commit, condone or remain silent about it which turned into a form of the modern plague.
